Alabama hit Auburn in the mouth but couldn’t slam the door shut, leaving too many chances on the field.
Oregon sputtered out of the gate, but turned it on in the second half to blow the doors off of Arizona.
But Nevada, sweet sweet Nevada… they did everything they could to give this game away, while trying so hard to stay in it at the same time.
They scored to tie the game at 31-31 with 16 seconds left in the game. Then, a heave as far as Kellen Moore could throw it was caught by Titus Young (sidenote: Young is a freak. Mad respect to that guy).
All Kyle Brotzman had to do was make a straightaway 26 yard field goal. He pushed it right.
Next up, overtime. Boise gets the ball first. After converting on 3rd and 9, two dropped passes in the endzone by Young force Brotzman back on the field to try a 29 yarder.
He pulled it left.
Now Reno is peaking all over the place. They can’t comprehend what’s about to happen.
Less than two minutes later they were in shock (and heaven) when they stormed the field after Anthony Martinez seals the win with a 34 yard field goal.
Now all the Frogs have to do is take care of business tomorrow against a very bad New Mexico team.
Hopefully Oregon State and South Carolina can give us a little help.
But for now, I smell roses.
